Anna joined the University Advising Center in 1996 as the Student-Athlete
advisor. She is also the advisor to the international students as well
as maintaining a group of freshman and sophomore advisees. She also
acts as the liaison with the College of Business. She holds a B.A. and a
M.A. in foreign languages from Florida State University (FSU). Prior
to coming to the University of West Florida in 1988, she was at
FSU for 11 years. Her professional experience in higher education includes
the areas of undergraduate studies, registration, and domestic and international
admissions.
As an advisor in the UAC, Anna is also responsible for teaching Student Life
Skills (SLS 1301), a freshmen seminar course to assist students in adjusting
to the university and learning the skills to help them succeed as students.
As is the case with the other professional advisors in the University Advising
Center, she has a strong dedication to helping students succeed not only
by assisting them in choosing the appropriate courses and meeting the academic
requirements of the university, but to the many other transitions that new
freshman face.
